Reading this website
The website has no reader accounts, checkout, newsletter signup or contact form. We use GoatCounter for aggregate website analytics, including page visits, referring sites, broad location information and clicks on our Amazon buying links. The tracker does not set a visitor cookie or require an account. It is not a complete visitor census: browser blocking and bot filtering can limit measurement. We do not send names, email addresses, payment details, destination URLs or URL query strings to GoatCounter.
Hosting and technical logs
The website is hosted on a Tencent Cloud server in Virginia, United States. The web server records technical access and error information, which can include IP addresses, requested URLs, timestamps, browser information, referring pages and response status. These records help operate the website, diagnose failures and investigate abuse. Nginx is configured for daily log rotation with 14 archived rotations; empty logs may not rotate, so this is not an exact 14-day deletion guarantee. Infrastructure-provider records are separate from these application-server logs.
Browser storage and external links
Our GoatCounter tracker does not use cookies or local storage to identify visitors. It sends the visited page path and referring site origin, without URL query strings. For Amazon buying-link clicks, it sends a click event named for the page, but not the destination URL or its tracking parameters. GoatCounter may briefly process technical request information, including IP address and browser details, to count visits and derive aggregate metrics; it says it does not persist IP addresses or full user-agent headers. GoatCounter.com is operated in Ireland, with service data hosted in Finland and Germany. Affiliate links contain a publisher tracking identifier; after you follow a retailer link, the retailer may use its own tracking under its privacy notice. You do not need to click a retailer link to read this website.
Your rights
Website operation and support may involve access from mainland China. Our website server is hosted in the United States; aggregate analytics data is handled by GoatCounter.com in Europe. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights concerning personal data and may complain to a relevant authority. This site currently does not publish a public contact channel; its privacy arrangements should be reviewed before expanding data collection.
