A recipe plays on your phone while both hands are busy. On another day, a video call begins in a hotel room with no useful place to prop the screen. Nite Ize’s QuikStand is appealing because it can travel almost unnoticed until that moment arrives. Folded, it is roughly credit-card-sized; opened, its aluminium support and polypropylene plate make a small adjustable stand.
Think occasional support, not a workstation
The QSD-01-R7 is designed for smartphones and small tablets up to seven inches, in portrait or landscape orientation. That is the manufacturer’s range, not proof that a larger tablet becomes suitable simply because it balances in a photograph.

For a permanent desk setup, a wider, heavier stand may be preferable. QuikStand makes more sense as a low-bulk backup for a café table, a short call or watching an instruction video. It does not raise a laptop screen or replace an adjustable desk arm.

Your case is part of the fit
The front flap adjusts to the device’s depth, and the maker says it accommodates devices with or without a form-fitting case. A bulky protective shell or accessory on the back still deserves checking. Screen size alone does not describe weight distribution or how a device sits against the support.

Set it up on a flat, stable surface and check the balance before letting go. We have not tested stability with individual phone models, cases or rough travel conditions. It is not a clamp that fixes the device to a tray, bicycle or vehicle dashboard.

Small enough to carry, not zero space
The wallet photographs show why the folding form is useful, but a wallet already stuffed with cards may not have spare room. Compare the folded stand with your actual pocket or pouch instead of adding it merely because the format looks clever.

Phones, wallets and travel scenes in the gallery illustrate use; they are not included. The stand provides no charging or electronic connection. Follow the maker’s setup sequence for the support bar and front flap.

Choose it if you often need a brief hands-free view away from your usual desk and value compactness. Skip it for large tablets, frequent tapping on an unstable surface or a permanent elevated workstation. Its value is being available for a modest task, not pretending that a wallet-sized accessory has the footing of a full desktop mount.
