A cheesecake deserves a gentler exit than being tipped upside down. The point of a springform pan is wonderfully simple: release the band and lift the sides away, leaving the delicate dessert supported on its base. Nordic Ware’s classic nine-inch version makes sense when that moment regularly matters in your kitchen.
Two pieces, one pan
The Amazon title calls this a two-piece set. That means the removable band and base, not two complete cake tins. The selected Classic nine-inch pan is carbon steel with a graphite finish and a nonstick surface. It is not the colourful springform variant shown in some manufacturer serving photographs.

Nine inches is a nominal size. The supplied diagram distinguishes an approximately 8.8-inch interior from a 9.8-inch base, with a 3.1-inch height. Compare those measurements with your recipe, fridge shelf and cake carrier rather than treating every nine-inch tin as interchangeable.

Choose it for desserts that dislike inversion
Cheesecakes, chilled layered desserts and suitable tortes are the obvious uses. A removable side can preserve a topping that would be ruined by turning the cake over. It does not remove the need for preparation, cooling or loosening the edge as the recipe directs.

The nominal ten-cup capacity is not a recommendation to fill the pan to the rim. Expansion and recipe type still matter. A recipe with very runny batter needs particular care around the removable-base seam.
A clasp is not a waterproof guarantee
Do not assume the joint is leakproof or that the pan can sit unprotected in a water bath. Follow your recipe’s isolation method and the supplied pan instructions. If you only bake ordinary sponge cakes, a fixed-base tin avoids an extra seam and may be simpler to own.
Hand wash with a gentle sponge, dry the separate components and avoid metal utensils or abrasive cleaners on the coating. Nordic Ware’s page gives inconsistent warranty durations, so this guide makes no duration promise.
Choose it for recipes where releasing the sides is genuinely useful. Skip it for a universal, carefree baking vessel. The dessert photographs are maker presentation references, not proof of our own release or leak testing.
