A wooden horn rising above a little record player is more likely to start a conversation than another plain shelf ornament. The ROKR Gramophone adds a second reason to look closely: you assemble the mechanism yourself. Choose LKB01 as a mechanical craft project with a musical payoff, not as an economical way to replace a proper turntable.
Make room for the work and the result
The kit has 424 wooden pieces. Robotime estimates ten hours of construction, but fitting, checking and correcting a mechanism can take longer than assembling its outer shape. This is a model for someone who enjoys understanding what the moving parts do, rather than rushing straight to the finished object.

At roughly 42.9 cm high, 26.1 cm deep and 22.6 cm wide, it is not a pocket-sized puzzle. Measure shelf clearance around the horn and leave a stable place to operate the crank.

The version matters more than the photograph
Official Robotime support distinguishes the hand-rotating LKB01 from the motorised LKB01D. Do not assume a USB-powered conversion is included because another listing or a demonstration uses electricity. Check the exact kit contents, model suffix and supplied instructions.

Start playback with the included record and follow the assembly and setup directions. Compatibility claims are not a reason to put a valuable vinyl collection under an unfamiliar model mechanism. We have not measured its tracking, sound quality or record wear.

Who would enjoy receiving it?
The strongest match is a patient maker who also likes old machinery or musical objects. Someone who loves listening to records but dislikes building things may prefer a finished player. Someone who loves assembling puzzles may enjoy this even if the sound is only an occasional demonstration.

Buy for that combination of interests. The pleasure is in turning a flat kit into something that moves and makes sound; promising hi-fi performance would miss what the project is actually for.
