A wallet becomes annoying long before it wears out: the seldom-used cards crowd the everyday ones, and yesterday’s receipts become permanent residents. The Secrid Slimwallet Original Black offers a more deliberate arrangement. Your main plastic cards sit in an aluminium Cardprotector, while an open leather wrap gives cash and occasional cards their own space.
Count the cards you actually carry
Secrid lists room for four embossed or six flat plastic cards inside the Cardprotector, with up to six additional cards in the leather wrap. Those are different kinds of storage, not twelve identical quick-access slots. Card thickness and embossed lettering affect what fits. Start with the cards you reach for every week rather than buying around the maximum headline capacity.

The lever presents the cards in a stepped arrangement. That is the central attraction: less searching through a stack at the checkout. It does not eliminate the need to choose which cards belong in the mechanism and which can stay in the outer pockets.

The open wrap is the buying decision
Unlike Secrid’s button-closing Miniwallet, this Slimwallet has no fastening strap. That makes the exterior look quieter and leaves room for banknotes and receipts without routing a button over them. The trade-off is that the leather section is not positively latched shut. Overstuffing it also changes the pocket profile you admired in the empty product photograph.

Original Black is a smooth leather finish, not the deliberately distressed Vintage finish. The maker’s leather swatch shows the material rather than an additional wallet accessory. Normal handling will alter the surface; do not expect leather to remain untouched-looking indefinitely.
Protection has a boundary
The aluminium enclosure shields the cards inside it against unwanted RFID communication. Cards in the outer leather section do not share that same enclosure. This is not a comprehensive identity-theft or pickpocketing guarantee.
Choose the Slimwallet for a small, intentional card selection with occasional folded cash. Skip it if coins, a large receipt collection or a securely buttoned wrap are essential. The photographs make the storage layout clear; this guide is based on the maker’s information, not our own pocket-carry test.
