Not every sink upgrade needs a sensor and a charging cable. The Black Umbra Penguin is a hand-operated soap pump with a rounded body, a beak-like spout and a broad surface to press. It adds a little character to a daily task while keeping the mechanism familiar: press down, dispense liquid soap, refill when the window shows it is running low.
A manual pump, not a touchless dispenser
This selected Penguin holds twelve ounces, or about 355 millilitres. It has a matte plastic body with a soft-touch finish and a narrow liquid-level window. There are no batteries, motion sensors or automatic dispensing settings to configure.

The wide push surface is the attraction if you prefer pressing a larger top instead of a narrow pump head. Whether that pressure and shape suit a particular user is personal; we have not measured operating force or tested accessibility. Keep it on a stable, suitable surface.

Use the maker’s narrower soap advice
The current Umbra instructions recommend liquid hand soap and advise against hand sanitizer and thick gel-based soaps for best performance. Follow that guidance rather than assuming any product labelled liquid will move through the pump equally well.

The Amazon description includes a line suggesting built-in sponge storage. The selected Penguin and maker gallery do not show such a compartment. That feature belongs to a different style of sink organiser; do not buy this pump expecting space for a scrub pad.

Refilling does not end the upkeep
The body separates from its reservoir for filling, as illustrated in the gallery. Follow the supplied instructions, avoid overfilling and wipe away residue. A viewing window is helpful, but it is not an automatic reminder or a promise of a particular number of doses.

At roughly eight inches tall, the pump also needs headroom to operate. Check a low shelf or medicine-cabinet overhang before choosing a position. The illustrated sink and decorative objects provide context, not included accessories.

Choose it for a recognisable little shape and straightforward manual use with compatible soap. Skip it if touchless operation or a foam-dispensing mechanism is essential. It is a reusable container, not a demonstrated reduction in soap use or a guarantee of mess-free counters.
