Keep the good cup from becoming a lucky accident
A coffee scale is less visually dramatic than a brewer, but it can make an enjoyable routine easier to repeat. Exagram combines weighing and timing in a compact device, so you can record what went into a cup instead of relying on the size of a scoop. That does not guarantee better coffee. It gives you a clearer starting point for small, deliberate adjustments.

Use measurement to answer one question
Begin with a recipe you already like and weigh the coffee and water consistently. If the result changes, alter one variable rather than changing everything at once. A timer can help record the process, but there is no universal time that makes every bean delicious. The useful purchase is a tool for your own comparisons, not a machine that chooses taste for you.

Confirm the version, not just the name
Wacaco’s current page describes updated software features. The selected Amazon listing identifies Exagram with a timer, and this guide does not promise that every unit has the latest automatic modes. If auto-start or pause behaviour is essential, check the precise seller description and supplied manual. Do not confuse this battery-powered Exagram with Exagram Pro.

Fit and power are practical checks
The maker specifies two AAA batteries, which are not included. Have them ready if this is a gift. Measure the intended espresso tray or pour-over workspace with a cup in place, because compact does not mean universal fit. A silicone pad protects the weighing surface, but it is not evidence that the electronics can be submerged or left under running water.

A small improvement for a willing brewer
Choose Exagram if you enjoy adjusting a coffee recipe and want weighing and timing together. Skip it for rechargeable power or an expectation that more data automatically creates a better drink. We have not independently calibrated its accuracy or tested response speed. Its attraction is making a favourite routine more intentional without needing a much larger counter setup.
