The useful question is whether giving parcels a dedicated tool improves your routine—not whether a pair of scissors can do everything.
Give packaging its own tool

Use shallow, controlled pressure so the contents underneath the tape are not the next thing you cut. Keep the free hand clear of the path and follow the supplied instructions. Tough wire, sheet metal and thick bones are different jobs; do not turn a household pair into an improvised heavy-duty cutter.
Keep food and parcels separate
The brand also shows the scissors cutting herbs. That is an alternative use, not a suggestion to move directly from dirty shipping tape to dinner preparation. Decide whether this pair will be for household packaging or clean food work and keep the hygiene routine appropriate.
For herbs, a knife and board offer more control over the final size and already handle other ingredients. For packages, a dedicated safety-oriented cutter may be a better alternative if you receive many parcels. These scissors are attractive when both regular scissor cuts and occasional tape opening belong in one household drawer.
Plan a safe drawer position
This model has no locking mechanism. Store it closed where the blades and box-cutting feature cannot catch fingers searching through a crowded drawer. It is not a child’s craft-scissor substitute just because the handles look comfortable.
