A charged power bank is not much comfort when its cable is still on the kitchen table. Anker’s black A1383 addresses that small travel failure with an attached USB-C lead and a 20,000mAh battery. It is a practical backup for a compatible laptop or phone, not a pocket-sized substitute for every wall charger.
Choose it for the connection you use most
The built-in lead gives a USB-C device a ready connection. A separate USB-C socket and USB-A socket cover other cables you bring. If your main device needs Lightning or another connector, the attached lead does not solve that problem: you still need the appropriate cable.

The manufacturer lists a size of about 15.75 by 7.35 by 2.6 centimetres and a weight around 431 grams. Imagine that in your actual bag rather than judging only by a product photograph. For a laptop that regularly runs away from outlets, the weight may earn its keep. For one emergency phone top-up, it may be more battery than you want to carry.

87W does not go to one device
Anker’s specification gives the built-in USB-C cable or USB-C port up to 65W for a single device. The 87W figure is a shared maximum, including the additional USB-A output. Your laptop must support compatible USB charging, and its normal power requirement still matters. A demanding machine may charge slowly or continue consuming battery under load.

The speed and full-charge counts on the gallery graphics are manufacturer test claims, not results we measured. Battery conversion losses and the connected device’s use also affect what you actually gain.

The price of keeping the cable attached
Choose A1383 when a USB-C laptop or phone needs substantial backup and remembering fewer separate parts matters. Skip it if your needs are already covered by a lighter bank or a readily available socket. Treat the captive cable gently, inspect it for wear and follow the product’s safety directions. Check the watt-hour label and current airline requirements before travel; a promotional flight icon is not an airline approval for your particular journey.
