A wallet can become a small archive: old receipts, expired passes and the card you have not used since last summer. The Herschel Roy makes more sense as a reason to edit that archive than as an excuse to move everything into a fresh shell. Its familiar bifold shape keeps cards and banknotes together without adding a coin pouch.
Lay out what earns a place
The Roy has six card slots and a banknote sleeve. Put your everyday cards and the notes you actually carry on a table before comparing wallets. If the pile already needs several cards in every slot, the neat silhouette in the photograph will not describe your loaded wallet.

The maker lists closed dimensions of about 9 × 11 × 1cm. Treat that as the empty reference, not a promised pocket thickness. A folded wallet containing cash, receipts and overlapping cards has to expand somewhere.

Quiet outside, familiar inside
The selected Black Tonal version has a subdued black label rather than the contrasting white badge seen in some gallery examples. Those other-colour views illustrate the Roy’s bifold layout; they are not photographs of the selected colour.

Recycled 600D polyester forms the exterior, excluding trims, with a recycled-polyester liner. It is a fabric wallet, not a leather one. The appeal is a casual, understated surface that fits a backpack-and-jeans routine without trying to look like a formal leather accessory.
Buy the wallet you will actually empty
A plain banknote compartment can be easier to scan than a collection of miniature zipped pockets. It also offers no sealed home for loose change. If coins are essential, compare a genuine coin wallet rather than assuming the similarly named Roy Coin and this Roy are interchangeable.
Choose it for a modest card load, some cash and a preference for the traditional open-and-fold gesture. Skip it if you need an ID window, a coin compartment or a tiny card-only holder. RFID terminology does not protect against losing the wallet itself. Our assessment uses maker information and gallery views, not a personal pocket-wear or durability test.
