A full rack need not occupy a full counter
The Extend Slim Steel drainer starts compact and expands through a sliding tray when more dishes need space. Steel supports hold dishes, a removable cutlery pot includes a knife slot, and an adjustable spout directs water toward the sink.

The spout is part of the fit decision. Check counter slope, sink edge height and the space needed in both closed and extended positions. A drainage outlet that does not reach an appropriate sink position will not solve water pooling merely because it is adjustable.

Choose expansion for a variable washing load
This is a candidate for a small kitchen where everyday dishes and occasional larger loads need different footprints. A fixed rack may be simpler if every washing session is the same size. Position knives according to the instructions and keep the drainage route clear. We have not tested drying speed or every plate size. The useful design is adjustable space connected to a workable water route; buy it after measuring that route rather than assuming slim means it fits anywhere beside a sink.

The decision before checkout
Measure closed and extended positions plus the sink edge. A slim parked footprint is not the same as a small working footprint. Keep the drainage path clear and place knives as instructed; the extendable rack does not establish a universal fit for every plate or countertop.
