A crusty flat top needs a different tool
After burgers or chopped vegetables, a flat griddle can have stubborn food across a broad surface. OXO’s scraper uses a stainless-steel edge and an angled head and handle. The useful idea is controlled scraping across the cooking plate, rather than trying to scrub a large flat area with a tiny brush.

The angle helps place the hand farther from the surface, but it is not permission to ignore heat. Follow the griddle manufacturer’s cleaning temperature and protection instructions. Keep clear of grease splashes, and use the edge only on a surface that permits metal scraping.

This is not a universal pan cleaner
Choose it for a compatible flat-top griddle you regularly cook on. Do not transfer that recommendation to coated nonstick pans or delicate surfaces. OXO lists dishwasher cleaning and a hanging ring, making it easy to keep the tool with a griddle setup. A small skillet or occasional pancake breakfast does not necessarily justify another substantial utensil. Its value comes from the surface area and baked-on mess it is designed to address, not from the word professional on a product page.

The decision before checkout
A scraper should travel across a surface the cooker maker permits you to scrape, not attack an unknown coating. Keep the clearing stroke controlled and collect loosened debris before the next wipe. Its purchase case is the large flat cooking area, not a promise of restoring every damaged griddle.
