A spoonful of a dog’s usual food can disappear before you have put the spoon away. The orange LickiMat Slomo changes the presentation rather than the food: one flat surface combines small pockets with rounded bumps, giving you two places to spread or portion a supervised snack. That simple contrast is more useful than expecting a mat to solve every feeding problem.
Two textures, one small portion
The standard Slomo measures 20cm by 20cm and is 1.7cm high. Its divided pattern lets you keep a wet spread and suitable dry pieces in different sections. Start with a small amount of food your pet already tolerates, counted within its normal allowance, rather than filling every pocket for the photograph.

Watch how your dog approaches it. A pet that enjoys licking food from the bumps may respond differently from one that tries to lift the whole tray. There is no reliable fixed number of minutes that this accessory will keep every dog occupied.

This is feeding equipment, not a chew toy
Supervision is the important part of the routine. Remove the Slomo if your dog starts chewing or damaging it, and inspect it before the next use. The low shape gives access to food, but it does not make the mat indestructible or appropriate for every chewing habit.

We are not adopting the manufacturer’s claims about anxiety, dental health or preventing digestive conditions. Those promises are different from the visible design fact: food is presented across two textures instead of in a smooth bowl. A feeding accessory is not a substitute for veterinary advice about an actual health concern.

Clean the pockets as carefully as you fill them
The maker lists the Slomo as dishwasher- and freezer-safe. Check the instructions supplied with your selected product and remove food residue from the small recesses. Freezing can alter the feeding task; it does not make unsuitable ingredients appropriate for your pet.
Choose the standard orange Slomo for a supervised enrichment routine with manageable portions and a dog that does not chew the tray. Skip it if the textured clean-up outweighs the benefit or your pet persistently treats mats as chew toys. Some reference images show other colours to illustrate the pattern and feeding use; the selected Amazon listing is orange. We have not personally tested it with a dog.
