A quick stop can become the best part of a day: a quiet view, a snack and somewhere clean to sit. Rumpl’s Pack Mat is made for carrying that possibility with you. Puzzled Blue adds visual personality, but the practical question is whether a full ground mat deserves space in the bag you actually take outdoors.
Do the footprint check first
The selected Large opens to 75 × 52 inches and packs to approximately 6 × 12 inches. It weighs 0.54 kg. Spread that rectangle out at home with your picnic arrangement: sharing space for people and food is more informative than a generic capacity label. This is not the much smaller Micro version.

What the bottom changes
The maker specifies a 20K waterproof TPU bottom beneath a microsuede top. That differs from the classic Everywhere Mat’s 5K bottom, though the full-size footprint is similar. You generally need one suitable mat, not both. Compare current versions and prices if choosing between them.

A waterproof ground layer is not a reason to settle in standing water or use the mat as a safety-critical shelter. The manufacturer excludes submersion. Choose a sensible spot and remove sharp debris before sitting.

Keep it easy to bring
The carry case includes a clipping loop, and the Large has corner loops for securing the mat. Check compatible attachments and supplied contents rather than assuming clips or stakes come in the box. Decide whether you prefer carrying it inside your bag or separately; dangling gear may be inconvenient on crowded paths.

Soft surface, not a padded sofa
Microsuede can make the sitting area feel more inviting than a plain tarp, but the product is not a thick cushioning pad. If rocky ground is the issue, a padded mat or proper seat may be a better answer. Shake off debris, spot-clean and hang dry; do not put it in the dryer.

Choose this for regular park, beach and campsite stops where ground cover matters and the packed shape fits. A tiny groundsheet remains reasonable for short solo pauses. The photographs are maker references; we have not performed a water-pressure or comfort test.
