Flip 7: The Little Card Game That Keeps Asking “One More?”

You could keep the points already in front of you. Or take another card and hope the next number is different. Flip 7 builds a table-wide moment out of that small temptation: everyone can understand why you stopped, and everyone can see what you risked by carrying on.

THE SHORT VERSION

Before you browse

  1. Press-your-luck game: another matching number busts a round; decide when to bank points.
  2. Uneven number distribution plus action and modifier cards; first to 200 points.
  3. 3+ players, ages 8+, maker estimate 20 minutes; 94-card deck.
  4. Random card draws matter; not primarily a deep strategy game.

The deck is not evenly balanced

This is a press-your-luck game, not a normal pack of playing cards. There is one 1, two 2s and so on, so the numbers do not have equal chances of appearing. A repeated number can bust your round, while banking protects the points you choose to keep. The first player to reach 200 wins.

Special cards add interruptions and second chances. Learn those effects before relying on the simple “do not repeat a number” explanation. The manufacturer diagrams here can help you picture the core idea, but the rules in your box govern play. We have not played the game ourselves.

A small purchase with a clear mood

The standard English second edition has 94 cards and is marked for 3+ players, ages 8+, with a maker estimate of 20 minutes. Its compact format is appealing when a larger board game feels like too much setup. You still need a table and a way to track the running scores.

It suits people who like visible risks and can laugh at a bad draw. It is less convincing for someone who wants a long contest determined mostly by careful planning. Knowing the distribution can inform a choice, but it does not let you control the next card.

Keep the variant straight

The selected link is the standard version, not With a Vengeance or a licensed character edition. Familiar artwork on a themed box does not necessarily mean identical effects or contents. Compare the exact name and package before buying an overseas version.

Choose Flip 7 for a quick, light game where the decision to stop is entertaining by itself. Skip it if chance-driven reversals frustrate your group or you need a two-player recommendation under the maker’s standard count. You are buying a little shared suspense, not a strategy system that rewards skill every time.
